Monty, Lola, and the New Year
Happy New Years Eve!!! It's been almost a month since my last post, whoops! I hope everyone had a great Christmas, I sure as heck know I did. Patrick was gone for the first part of December but we made up for it by watching a million Christmas movies and drinking extra chai tea lattes and apple cider at home. I didn't get to see my family this time, which also means I didn't get to see snow, but it was still fun. I received the best gifts possible I do believe.
I would like to tell everyone a wonderful tale (I promise it goes somewhere at the end). It began the saturday after Thanksgiving while we were at the Christmas tree farm. A phone call from a relative was received by Patrick/his mother about a 'mystery' present for me. And then insanity ensued. There was jumping and yelling and cheering, and me standing there clueless. Well this went on up until Christmas. All I was told was that I was going to get the best gift in the world, I was going to have a cow, it was a 25 on a 1-10 scale of excitement. Well I really had absolutely no clue as to what it was. On Christmas morning I was blindfolded and led outside, only to discover this:
GOATS!!!!!!!! Two twin baby Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Who in the world gives goats as Christmas presents?? My husband, thats who. This is my first real pet, as a real grown up. And the fact that they are goats couldn't be any more perfect. I am a weird girl who needed a weird pet. So I have goats. The boy is Montgomery and the girl is Lola. They were terrified of any and all people when we first got them, but now they both eat out of our hands and chew on my clothes. Montgomery even stole my bookmark out of the book I was reading yesterday, I stole it back. They are fiends for raisins, so if you want to suck up to them, brings raisins.
myself with said raisins
I fear these goats are going to cause me to become even more of a homebody. Any and all friends I have might possibly be lost; once they don't want to hear another word about what else the goats said to me.
