Fields, friends, and bugs
Hello friends! I don't know about everywhere else, but spring is definitely here! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weather whatever it's like where you are. The highs here have been in the upper 70's and the lows have been barely 50 degrees...which seems very out of the ordinary at this time of year for down here. You can't feel an ounce of humidity....and it's heavenly! If you've ever been to south eastern Georgia in the summer you will understand what I'm talking about, it gets miserable. There aren't even mosquitoes out yet!! I am insanely allergic and get bit about 50 times before anyone else gets it once. I found these bug repellent patches though! I haven't used one yet but I am pretty pumped about trying them. They only have vitamin B1 and aloe, so they're hippie friendly.
Now onto the dress!!
My good and sweet friend Annie sent this to me completely out of the blue. It was the best surprise to find in the mail box..and it fits! She was lucky enough to come across a group of lovely handmade dresses from the 50's. All I know is one little old lady out there somewhere used to have quite the stylish wardrobe. I usually don't wear dresses that are this length, I end up hemming them a lot shorter. I always feel like knee length or longer might look funny on me because I have REALLY short legs. Ha ha. It doesn't help when you're already short in general, add a long body and short legs and you have a recipe for feeling awkward in some clothing. But looking through these pictures make me think I was wrong this whole time!
The whole time I was taking pictures I was so worried about bugs and right behind me in this field are tons of bee boxes so there were honey bees buzzing all around. (having bee boxes in your backyard is so tempting..its a good thing I know nothing about honey or I would be out there stealing all of it) My first attempt at taking pictures today was worse than bee encounters though. There is a spot in our yard with old fallen down trees and trunks but every single one is old and rotten. So literally every step I took my foot just went right through like stepping on sawdust. This just made me think of bugs crawling out of the logs and all over me. So logically, I ran away.
No, I don't have an arm band.
