Bees, legs, and surprises

Why hello friends! I am back from my internet hiatus, you can all rest easy now. I wish I was coming back to you with news saying I accomplished a hundred new things, took a million photos, or other impressive feats. But as it turns out, the internet is not the thing making me unproductive. It's all me! I can waste time regardless of where I am or what I'm doing, it's a talent. I just learned setting little goals is the way to go, you can't break bad habits overnight! I did read a lot this past week, mostly about honey bees. This is off topic, but bees are amazing! It has been a goal of mine to get honey bees for awhile, maybe next spring is finally the time.

Onto the pictures! This dress was a frumpy old nightgown that I sewed up. I didn't take a before picture, I NEVER remember to do that. The few times I ever have is only because Patrick reminded me to, he's so good at remembering things. It wasn't too involved though, I just took in the sides and them hemmed it up. There is a little stockpile of gigantic old nightgowns growing in my house. It's definitely the most cost effective way of attaining a new summer wardrobe!

I should also admit that I've worn this dress about 4 times in the past week, whoops. Usually with tights though which makes absolutely no sense because it's hot out! I'm usually not the biggest fan of having bare legs even if it means suffering for it, call me a weirdo.

I also have been wanting to do a giveaway as a thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my silly old ramblings. I'm sure there are much more interesting thing out there to do. It makes me extremely happy and want to run around the room when a new comment is received! Although most things make me want to run around the room and yell, my poor husband is so patient. I decided there's no time like the present! I will be posting about this giveaway tomorrow. And I am warning you in advance that it will consist of things I've been making, so don't get too excited.

And I leave you with some weirdo pictures, I suspect a bug was biting me in the last one or something.

  1. I seriously think you are one of the MOST DARLING girls in the world... and WISH I would've met you when I visited Georgia two summers ago. Alas, I am stuck in Utah!!

  2. The dress is excellent, and I love that big old mossy tree in the pictures. I have a couple of old nightgowns I've turned into dresses but I never do a very good job, usually just hacking the bottom off with blunt scissors when I decide I have NOTHING to wear and must leave the house this INSTANT, and then never get around to hemming them properly. I must work on that. I know what you mean about time wasting no matter the distraction, too! I love to blame the internet but truth is, it's all me. Oh and you look lovely, by the way.
