Frizzy hair

The weather on Saturday was so nice for awhile, 88 degrees, cloudy, and even somewhat breezy...ahhhhh! So on our way home from the farmer's market we stopped and took some pictures. I made this dress awhile ago out of some fabric I found at a thrift store. And a note of forewarning to anyone that sews; please don't look closely at this thing! It was completely fine but fit just a little too loose. So I decided in the morning, an hour before I had to go somewhere, that I would "fix" it. Well in my sleepy brain it made sense to just take some extra fabric out of the middle of the top of the dress. Don't do that, it doesn't work. As crooked and funny as it is, I still end up wearing it all the time anyway.

Speaking of sewing, I have decided to make the pattern I'm working on out of more fall appropriate materials. It is my official stance against summer. Right this very second outside there is a heat index of 118 degrees. Sounds fun, doesn't it? So I am hiding inside until fall comes. Luckily at the end of September we are going to be spending a month in Northern California while Patrick records with his band. So we will be skipping the last stretch of hot weather in Georgia and trading it for perfect fall weather, wahoo!

dress: me tights: h&m shoes: target

Speaking of Patrick's band I thought I'd share a little bit about what he/they do. If you're interested you can go here to read about some things!

  5. I can't wait till you can come visit and get out of that miserable heat! Your hair looks all sorts of cute, though. And I am so down to have an old lady day of baking and sewing, and if we can make Josh a pool, maybe he'll give us shopping money! :)

  9. It's a shame the band doesn't need a drummer, because I would GLADLY volunteer Marvin in exchange for getting out of this dreadful Arkansan heat a bit early. I'm amazed at the end of each day that I haven't melted. Yuck.
