Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope you have all been enjoying your (almost) five full days of 2011. And just in case you were starting to wonder; no, no I am in fact not dead. I may be a deadbeat blog updater though. We were in Washington for a week and a half for the holidays and while I had grand plans for posting, I instead spent my time eating copious amounts of cookies, hiding from the cold, and sending Patrick running for the hills as to avoid shopping with my sister and me. (Which, by the way, includes standing for 30 minutes trying to decide what kind of cookie sheet to buy. And then putting the cookie sheet down and wandering around) Fear not, I'm back!
Get ready for a time warp, because there will be some Christmasy posts mixed in for the next little while.
Let me tell you about the most amazing thing that happened on New Years day. I was on the way to Target (who, by the way, had no good Christmas clearance left) and was only 15 minutes down the street from my house, which means I was in the still in the middle of nowhere. All of the sudden I screamed "dress form!!!" and swerved into a parking lot to turn around. In some grassy spot next to a post office, some random guy was packing up his yard sale (??) and standing behind everything was this....
I had to play it cool while getting out of the car of course, if the guy knew how desperately I wanted this thing the price probably would've been a whole lot more! When he said the price I don't know how I didn't start hugging him... $25! But instead, I played it even cooler and gave him my counteroffer of $20. And the guy took it. I took my new treasure and ran to my car. So everyone, meet Beth. According to Patrick, she looks like a Beth. But if your name is Beth, please don't take offense to being compared to something with only a dirty old torso. I should also mention that we're almost the exact same size!
Beth needs a good bath (and a boob job) but what better way to start off 2011? This is going to be a good year.
