Parks, Packages, and Chocolate

Why hello friends! I must apologize for my absence and my signing off on my last post with "expect a more official post tomorrow." Ha! For you see, I then got sick for a few days. I then recovered from said sickness and it was Patrick's birthday, followed by a day to run errands, a dinner I forgot about last night until right before it was time to leave, etc. I am extremely bad at letting little things throw me off and 'forcing' me to procrastinate. So I have decided to start sticking to a blog schedule! Just a measly three posts a week until I can get myself to stick to one post a day! Please bear with me on this and don't give up on me and never come back. Thank you.

Now on to more fun things! The other day I went with Patrick to work because he only had one quick little job (he's a window washing subcontractor when not on tour) and then we went and ran some little errands around town. I had a gift card for Barnes&Noble to use up, and let's face it, that store is freakin' expensive! I have been wanting to get the new Built by Wendy Dresses book, but it was $10 more there than it is on Amazon. But I am too much for a cheapskate for that, so I settled on a fancy Moleskine notebook to write all my fancy ideas down in (even those are way cheaper on amazon, ha). Speaking of, that book should be getting here today! Anyway, one of our final stops for the day was a little health food store that happens to be on Forsyth Park, which is an amazingly nice place. So we walked around for a little bit before going into the store to by honey (I have a slight honey addiction). It was the day before St. Patrick's Day so it was pretty busy. They dye the fountain in the park green, its the talk of the town. We generally avoid all of Savannah on St. Patrick's day, it has the 2nd biggest parade that day in the country or something. This just amounts to large amounts of drunk people urinating in the streets. What fun.

I have no logical explanation for what is going on here...

shirt/skirt- F21
tights (my favorite pair)- h&m
shoes- target
sunglasses- U.O.

Awhile ago Lauren and I decided to swap surprise packages and let me just say, boy did she sure deliver! I felt completely inadequate about the package I put together when I opened hers, it was like Christmas! Buttons, a sewing pattern, lace, chocolate (which I instantly began eating), a flowery hair comb, a skirt in the color I am currently obsessed with, and a floral thermal with a wonderful detachable bow. Oh, and best of all, fabric!!! You can see it in detail in the last picture, I am so excited to make something out of it. I will have to draw out my ideas in my fancy notebook I guess. Well anyway, it was the best package ever I think. So thank you ma'am!!

Come back later tonight for my very first giveaway!! And it's a doozie of a giveaway, if I do say so myself.

  1. You should check out Barnes and Noble's online store. I got my books in three days when Amazon wasn't even going to ship them for another ten! I only paid maybe two dollars more as well.

  4. you shouldn't feel inadequate at all! your package was really really lovely :) and I'm glad that you like the one I sent you! I can't wait to see what you make out of the fabric.

and I bought the built by wendy dress book, too! I'm just starting on patterns so I'm working with something else before I move onto the dress book, since it's a little complicated for me at my beginning stages. but you look ridiculously adorable and I'm glad you're feeling better. and moleskine is the coolest.. hemingway wrote in them.
